Black and White Street Photography

Photography was an expensive art form when I started taking pictures in 1967. Lucky enough to marry a man with a professional camera, black and white film was all I could afford.  I spent ten years living in the U,K, from 1969-1979, immersed in street photography, (BRITS) even though my formal training was in a studio. Upon my return to the States, I discovered the genre was widely rejected, and the art world was experiencing a post Vietnam PTSD. I shot one last documentary project, "Main Street", and never went back to black and white reportage.
