Off the Strip: Smear and Loathing

This Public Participation Performance Art piece was part of a Performance Art Festival presented by the Contemporary Arts Center, in Las Vegas.  Members of the public were invited to alter photos of political candidates, with bleach. These images were later used to make blankets for the Occupy Movement (see "The Big Cover-Up").  Of all the performances, mine was the only political one, and I was grateful that the out of town guest - experts acknowledged my work.  I was definitely the black sheep of the event, and I felt very lucky to be included, considering the atmosphere of the local art scene, at the time.
